Professor Russell Celyn Jones is Director of the Creative Writing MA programme at Birkbeck College (University of London). His first novel was published in 1990 and he has since written another 6 works of critically acclaimed literary fiction, plus several creative writing text books. Russell is a regular literary critic for the Times and has been awarded the Society of Author's Award, the Welsh Arts Council Fiction Prize and the David Higham Prize. He has also judged the Booker Prize (2002).
